Santa Cristina chapel

Santa Cristina Chapel

Built in the ninth century, partly demolished around the twelfth century, then finally restored around the fifteenth century by the monks of the monastery of Monte Cristu, this chapel and its original architecture are worth a visit. While visiting Corsica, Prosper Merimée made the chapel famous in France and beyond, which is how it came to be registered in 1890 as a Historical Monument. Remarkable for its original architecture, its twin apses, and its preserved frescoes, this unique Corsican chapel will certainly impress you.
