The village is situated in the Orezza area, in the heart of Regional Nature Reserve of Corsica. One of the peculiarities of Parata is that is a purely pedestrian village, stand on a slope at the end of an isolated road lined by oak and chestnut trees. The buildings are typical of the local architecture, and most of them are dating from the 16^th century.
