Carchetu è Brusticu

The village is located right into the heart of Castagniccia, in the area of Orezza. The tall houses, for the most part dating from the 15th to the 19th centuries, are typical of the built heritage of Castagniccia. We can also discover some house-towers, the well-known being the gite, wich used to be the hiding place of the Castelli bandit in the 19th century. Surrounding by chestnuts, Campana is home to the old «Vert d'Orezza» quarry, a rare green marble still used to make jewels.
