A Croce

Located at an altitude of 800m, Croce dominates the two settlements of Orezza and Ampugnani, and offers a panoramic view of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The village consists of two hamlets, Poghju and Sorbellu, and extends from the forest of San Pietro d'Accia under the Mount San Petrone to the Fium'Altu river. This belvedere is a typical village of the slaterich interior, with slate roofs and rustic, cobbled «teghje» alleys. Two bread ovens, a municipal chestnut dryer and a communal washing place, bear witness to the expertise and know-how of its former residents.
