A Valle d'Orezza


Valle d'Orezza is made up of 6 hamlets: Tramica, Pedipetru, Aidana, Poghju, Palaghjacce and Poghje. The village was known for its woodcarving handicraft, which used to be one of the main economic activities, especially its pipes. The traditional built heritage is composed of stone houses with slate roofs and chestnut frameworks, stairs, narrow alleyways, cobbled ways and chestnut dryers.

To discover
- Santa Maria church and Santa Rita chapel. They contain some prestigious religious objects like the monstrance offered by the Emperor Napoleon the Third in 1870, and several gold-embroidered fabrics.
- San Ghjorghju chapel, dating from the 11th century and listed as historical monument.
- The chapels of San Ghjanbattista «the Decapitated» in the hamlet of Poggie, Sant'Antone in Tramica, San Ghjanbattista in Palaghjacce, and Notre Dame des Neiges in Poghju.
- Fountains of the village.
