The village consists of five hamlets: Poghju, Casanova, Penta lu Trave, Nepita and E Caldana. We can discover the «palazzi», palaces with the appearance of fortified houses which served as look-outs. The Leandri House and its cave of Pagliaghja under the Mount Emerini was centres of the island resistance, where important decisions were taken until September 1943.
