Located at the foot of the majestic Mount San Petrone, the municipality consists of the village of Nucario and three hamlets: Celle, Pietricaggiu and Erbaggiu. The built heritage is typical of Castagniccia: tall stone houses with slate roofs, some «ricciata» squares (cobbled stones planted vertically which prevent rain running off and forming gullies at its source), several «loghje» vaulted alleys, numerous fountains... as well as religious edifices in Baroque style.
