I Piazzali

The smallest village of Alisgiani's valley is home to San Francescu convent, which occupies a sacred palce in Corsican history since Theodor von Neuhoff was crowned King there on April 15, 1736. The convent's church houses the famous «La Vierge à la Cerise» painted by artist Sienese Sano di Pietro, along with 7 classified works. Every year on September 8 takes place the Festa di A Madonna, a religious event. Note that Piazzali is an integral part of the Corsican Regional Nature Reserve, and is classified at the ZNIEFF Inventory: 'châtaigneraies - petite Castagniccia' (chestnut groves of Castagniccia).
