This village consisting of 6 hamlets: Ortia, Bonicardu, Poggiale, Poghju, Sorbellu and Porta. We can visit the desterted site of Sorbelllu: ruins show the evolution of house building generation by generation, with houses getting bigger both in height and width. Note that Tarranu is an integral part of the Corsican Regional Nature Reserve, and is classified at the ZNIEFF Inventory: 'châtaigneraies - petite Castagniccia' (chestnut groves of Castagniccia).
